Morris Edward Levy, Jr., “Mr Ed,” 73, of Jonesboro passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 29, 2020, with family by his side. Mr. Ed was born in Slidell, Louisiana, to the late Morris Edward Levy, Sr. and Eunice (Talley) Levy.

Mr. Ed is survived by his wife of 55 years, Glenda Levy; sons, Scott (wife, Kirsten) Levy and Kenny (wife, Lee) Levy; grandson, Zach; granddaughters, Chelsey, Marina, Jaden, and Kiana; and great-grandchildren.

Ed and Glenda met in seventh grade at Riverdale Elementary and remained childhood sweethearts throughout school. As time moved forward, Ed knew that Glenda was the love of his life. In their senior year in high school Ed met Glenda’s dad, Mr. Pete Umphrey and wife, Louise, and asked permission to marry Glenda. Ed proposed to Glenda and presented her with a beautiful ring. Ed and Glenda graduated in June 1965 and were married on August 14, 1965.

A long-time resident of Clayton County, Ed worked at Delta Air Lines for 33 years, retiring in 1999 as an Engine Maintenance Supervisor. After retirement he joined Glenda at the business, they opened in 1982, Galaxy Homes, Inc. The business transitioned to “Mr. Ed’s” Portable Buildings in November 2011 where Ed and Glenda worked together until Ed became ill.

Ed was a passionate Harley rider and Ed and Glenda rode their Harley in all 48 states and into Canada. Ed held several officers’ positions including Director in the Harley Owners Group (HOG) of Clayton County and was involved in many children’s charity organizations and events.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 2:00 PM. We invite all family and friends to join us for visitation and Celebration of Life at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Mowell Funeral Home in Fayetteville. In lieu of flowers, the family lovingly requests that donations be made in Ed Levy’s name to Ronald McDonald House of Georgia or Children’s Hospital of Atlanta or St. Jude of Atlanta.

All who knew Mr. Ed respected and loved him!! He will be missed.
