Sue Ellen Huckaby Alberts, age 75, of McDonough, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26, 2022. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Marvin Parker Huckaby and Susie Lois King Huckaby.

Sue was a native of Morrow, Georgia and a graduate of Jonesboro High School. She worked at Lake Harbin Elementary School as a kindergarten aide and school secretary for 19 years. Since retiring, Sue and Larry have served faithfully in ministry, including over 10 years as leaders of the care ministry at Glen Haven Baptist Church.

Sue will always be known for the kindness and selflessness she displayed to others; always putting others first. Sue was always making tea cakes with icing that she would share with anyone needing a hug or a friend in a time of joy or need. She loved her Savior Jesus Christ above all and shared her faith and love with many.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 56 years, Larry Edward Alberts; a daughter, Deidre (Kevin) Spurlock; a son, Randall (Amy) Alberts; her grandchildren, Mason Alberts and Parker Spurlock; siblings, Hue (Marty) Huckaby, Danny (Pat) Huckaby, Kirby (Suzan) Huckaby; several nieces and nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Glen Haven Baptist Church (345 East Lake Road, McDonough, GA 30252) with Pastor Stan Berrong, Pastor Brady Howard, and Pastor Daryel O’Barr officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors and on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service.
