OCTOBER 21, 1947 – AUGUST 19, 2024

Mrs. Katherine “Kathy” Collar, age 76, of Douglasville, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024. She was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on October 21, 1947, daughter of the late James McHugh, Sr. and the late Elizabeth Snyder McHugh.

She was a loving wife, mom, mother-in-law, and GaGa. Katherine was a long-time member of the Church of Chapel Hill before moving to another area of Georgia. She was an avid Jimmy Buffett fan and was known for her famous margaritas. She enjoyed spending her time with friends and family. She went on many cruises and would often do various crafts to occupy what time she did have to herself. She lived life to the fullest and was loved by so many.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Allan Collar, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Roy Allan Collar, Jr. (Melissa); daughter, Angelina Collar; brother, James McHugh, Jr.; sisters, Peggy Mayo (Darrell), and Mary Ann Cottingham (Rob); grandchildren, Cade Collar, Addyson Collar, Scotlynn Collar, and Bryce Garrett.

The family will have a memorial service for Katherine on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 11:00 am in the Rosehaven Chapel. Following the service, she will be inurned at Rosehaven Cemetery in Douglasville, Georgia.
